We have three adult Nigerian Dwarf does- Miriam, Priscilla, and Deborah-and one teenage buck, Benjamin.

Benjamins big job starts this fall when he’ll breed the girls. If all goes according to plan, next year we’ll be milking again. Benjamin has earned himself a permanent spot on the homestead as our herd sire.

These goats may be small, but their personalities are anything but. They’re endlessly curious, incredibly nosy, and have absolutely no concept of personal space. If you’re fixing a fence, carrying a bucket, or just trying to stand still for a minute, they’ll be right there supervising every move.

And grain? They can hear a scoop rattle from what feels like the next county over. Nothing gets their attention faster.

Follow along as we grow our little dairy herd, welcome next year’s kids, and see where this goat adventure takes us.
