Thank you for stopping by! If you are looking for a perfectly curated homestead where the chickens politely stay in their coop, the garden never has weeds, and every loaf of sourdough bread looks magazine worthy…. you’re probably going to be disappointed.
Around here we call if a win if everyone gets fed, the fences stay standing and I remember what I came outside to do.
Grateful Mess Homestead was built on the idea that life doesn’t have to be picture-perfect to be meaningful. We have 8 acres, a growing collection of animals with more personality than common sense, a garden that is equal parts hope and chaos and a kitchen where I am always trying to make one more thing from scratch. Our goal is to be as closely involved as possible to where our food comes from, whether from our own farm or from somewhere local.
Some days I feel like I know exactly what I’m doing. Most days google and I are figuring it out together. This isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about learning as we go, celebrating the little wins and sharing the reality of homes stead life- the muddy boots, the early mornings, the projects that take three times longer than expected and the moments that remind you why you started in the first place.
So, whether you are here for the animals, the recipes, the gardening adventures, or to just watch someone else stumble through this beautifully mess lifestyle I am glad you found us.
Grab a cup of coffee…or a baked good if you are like me and don’t drink coffee because caffeine makes you anxious. Pull up a chair and join me as I shared the messy, funny, sometimes successful, sometimes “well that didn’t go as planned” adventures of homestead life.
